Pray for purity
We live in a world where the impurities have been advertised as “It’s not wrong”, “it’s the perspective of the viewer”,”Everybody does it”. Purity has become an object of mockery and is scheduled for boring people. When I was a teenager I started receiving a lot of teaching on purity from my Sunday school teachers, Sunday sermons in the prayer center that I attended from childhood, the mission camps and youth retreats and not to forget about my strict parents. One famous quote that I heard often was this “Holy life is a Jolly life”. This statement sounds funny to people who are stuck with impure lifestyle not knowing the joy in purity. But the problem gets a little too messy when purity is not a priority in marriage. Many marriages are broken due to virtual relationships, pornography and adultery. Today let’s commit our lives to purity and protect our husbands from the clutches of the sexist world.

For you
- Lord, I submit my body as a living sacrifice to you! My body belongs to you as you have bought it with your precious blood. May I not submit that to any physical pleasures outside marriage.
(Romans 12:1) - Lord, I submit my body to be modest in my dressing. May I adorn me with beautiful clothing of dignity and avoid anything that draws unnecessary attention. I dedicate my body to my husband as a pure gift under the umbrella of the marriage covenant made in front of you.
(Proverbs 31:25, I Timothy 2:9) - Lord, remove all the pride that I have about my complexion, height, body shape and my facial beauty. Make me pure with the humility about my outward appearance may I never look down on others for their outward appearance. Remove all the inferior thoughts about my complexion, height, body shape and my facial beauty. Lord, I accept my body just the way you have fearfully and wonderfully made and submit it to purity.
(Psalm 139:14) - Lord, remove all the worries about the physical intimacy between me and my husband. I shall submit that area into your hands and prioritize wisdom and love and affection between me and my husband. Lord, I know that physical intimacy is quite important but the highest priority is love and when the love is strong physical intimacy will be stronger.
(1 Corinthians 13:13, Song of Solomon 7:10) - Lord, I submit my marriage bed into your hands, protect it from all the impure thoughts, impure actions, porn and impure intentions. I understand that every lustful thought and action outside the boundaries of marriage is impure. Lord, I proclaim that the physical intimacy between husband and wife is Holy in the eyes of God and I declare and decree your blessing over our marriage bed today! (Proverbs 5:18,19)
For your Husband
- Lord, I pray that You bless my husband’s health pertaining to the sexual abilities(Proverbs 5:18). Heal all the emotional wounds that are creating stress in the husband in getting into intimate relationship with the wife.
(Jeremiah 30:17) - Lord, remove all the hatred, ego and anger over the wife that is affecting the physical intimacy. May the husband be filled with love and affection when he approaches the marriage bed.
(Ephesians 5:25) - Lord, remove all the temptations that draw him towards adultery, extra marital affairs and pornography. Teach him the dangers of sexual impurity and teach him the blessings behind pure marriage bed.
(Proverbs 5:20,21) - Lord, provide favor for the wife in the eyes of the husband so that she may look beautiful and attractive to him even if there are many attractive women outside, just like how Esther was attractive to Agasaurus.
(Esther 2:17, Proverbs 5:19) - Lord, guard him from wrong advice from worldly friends in terms of porn and adultery. Guard him from the seductive words, behavior and clothing of perverted women. Protect him from falling for virtual cheap instant relationships that swim through the social networking platforms.
