30 days of Praying for you and your husband! Day 5

Day 5

Pray for prudence

Prudence – means seeing ahead, sagacity, foresight

When I look around the world, people are in a rush, on one hand they are doing so much to save time but on the other hand people are not prudent enough to do things that needs to be done ahead of time in order to prevent some dangers in future. Prudence is not a quality people are interested in. Even in the workplaces the lazy and cunning shortcut snakes are given more preference than the prudent and wise ants. But prudence is quite important, especially for women. We may have a weak physical stature but God has given us a heart of wisdom. When we invest our time into listening to wise woman we may gather a lot of information that we never knew. (Note: When I say wise women you may assume that I’m talking about old women. By all means we should honor them and hear their advice. But the sad truth is that not all old women are wise women and there are many young women who are so wise beyond their age and many old women who wasted their life fighting and quarreling. Be wise in choosing the right advice from real wise women.) Most important of all read 1 chapter(according to the date) from the book of proverbs each day throughout your life so that you may become more prudent and make a note of the Bible verses that shed light on prudence.

For you

  • Lord, teach me to be prudent in planning my day ahead of time so that I’m not stressed all day. Help me to decide according to what I am capable of doing and to give my best in everything that I do.
  • Lord, every time I make a mistake help me learn from it and never to go back to that same mistake again.
  • Lord, help me gather prudence from the word of God, from you and from the life experiences that you provide me. May I never forget those life lessons. Give me the presence of mind to recollect and apply in my life.
  • Guide me to keep wise people around me who will guide me in a prudent way. May I not be corrupted by foolish counsel or any misguidance from a dominating individual.
  • Lord, give me a heart that discerns the situation and people around me. Let me not trust people too soon without knowing them well.

For your Husband

  • Lord, I pray that you will teach my husband your ways of wisdom. Teach him to unlearn all the earthly ways he has been taught. Reveal your plans to him and guide him at each step.
  • Lord, Help him to find Godly company who are trustworthy. Protect his ears from all the unwise counsel from the cunning and jealous people.
  • Lord, I pray against all the evil schemes that is working to destroy all the efforts put by my husband by bringing small folly that can devastate his actions.
  • Lord, I pray that my husband will be an ardent observer of the things that are happening around so that he may be aware of the times that we are in and act prudently.
  • Lord, I pray that my husband is prudent in taking decisions. Give him the presence of mind to say ‘No’ to the destructive traps brought by the evil one. Give him the prudent heart to say ‘Yes’ to useful and productive things in life.

Amen!
