30 days of Praying for you and your husband! Day 06

Day 6

Pray for Providence

I used to have a wrong understanding of God’s providence. Most of us  think our providence comes from our bank balance or wealth or the monthly salary. It is true that God abundantly gives us these things but providence is something else. When God created Adam and Eve they had everything they needed in the garden, yet they were asked to work in the garden. Work is not a curse from God for us to do in order to be provided. Work was a blessing given to Adam and Eve even before they sinned. Providence is the absolute blessing of God that comes bundled with the ability to enjoy it and use it wisely irrespective of what we are earning and this comes in a divine way. We can say that work has a different purpose and providence that comes from God along with the work that God gave us, make our lives worth living. Only those who walk in faith and are good stewards of the resources understand this well. I know a  very old widow who is living all alone. There are 4 or 5 bedrooms in her house and she can not climb stairs to even enter into those rooms. All her children and grand children are in a Middle East country. They visit her once in three years as they feel that the travel is expensive (to meet their mother).  Hope you are getting my point. Providence is when you are blessed by God and everything He gives you will be useful and you will be grateful to Him and cherish those blessings! Most important of all, you will dare to be a Blessing! Providence is divine! Let’s pray!

For you

  • Lord, today I chose to trust in your providence and not on my job or my wealth. All that I have is by your immaculate grace, O Lord. It is you who has blessed me and gave the ability to reach this far. All glory to you!
  • Lord, I pray that your divine providence will keep me protected during these unprecedented times. I surrender me and my household into your wings. We will look only to you for every need and every desire to be fulfilled.
  • Lord, remove all the pride that I have about my qualifications and the effort that I put in building this family. Let me not take credit for the things that you helped me do.
  • Lord, remove all the worries that I have about tomorrow. Let me not waste all my years into hectic life style thinking I’m building a safe future. At the same time let me not be lethargic to make wise choices for the future of the family. Help me put all the efforts into family cheerfully, wisely and most importantly peacefully.
  • Lord, remove all the jealousy from me. Teach me to quit comparing my life with others and complaining about the providence that you have given me which is not there for others. May I rejoice when others succeed and live well.

For your Husband

  • Lord, I pray that You bless my husband to know the power of your providence and to trust in your providence throughout his life.
  • Lord, I pray that my husband doesn’t go after the worldly ways of changing the life style. Let him not waste money on unwanted things.
  • Lord, I pray that my husband will co-operate with me in saving money for future and adverse situations. Remove all the small holes in the pocket that leak little money at a time and eventually lead to huge loss.
  • Lord, I pray that my husband will not be driven by ego when it comes to providing the family. Lead him and guide him to make wise decisions in spending for the family. Stop him when he is wasting money on luxuries without thinking of alternatives that can save money.
  • Lord, at the same time let us not become stingy in giving others, grant us faith and kindness so that we can be helpful to people in need even when we are in need.

Amen!

Today’s Promise:

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4

Today’s Command:

Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. Psalm 127:1

They are fathers too

Happy Fathers’ Day!

As I see many posts of gratitude and praise on Fathers’ Day I’m glad that the fathers get recognized at least once a year.

But I do wanna highlight that this day is not about people who became biological fathers and people who are referred as Dads.

There are many Men who cared for the destitute children and fostered them like their own. They are fathers too!

There are uncles who took care of their nieces and nephews like their own children. They are fathers too!

There are elder brothers who shouldered the family burden in educating the siblings and getting them married. They are fathers too!

There are single mothers who raised their children and gave them a bright future and the children have said “My mother never let us miss our father”. They are fathers too!

There are elder sisters who delayed their own marriage and spent all their earnings and savings to educate their younger siblings. They are fathers too!

Fatherhood is not a profile assigned to men who become biological parents.

Fatherhood is a POSITION!
Fatherhood is a PURPOSE!
Fatherhood is a PRIVILEGE!

With Love,
Aloshni
