Day 11
Pray for Relationship with God
Married life is the best place to be churned and turned into the Character of Jesus! When we think of all the forgiveness that has crossed the counts of seventy times seven, we sure understand that marriage is a place where our faith is tested to be proved true or if it’s just surface level faith. Marriage is also a place where selfish people become unselfish and unselfish people are taken advantage of. Many mature Christians (the true ones 😀 ) who have been married for decades credited their success in marriage to the relationship with God. But the current times are different the married couples are in a wild goose chase to make their bread and butter and make ends meet and to have a better standard of living. The relationship with God is put to toss.
I faced this too. Being a working woman who is an SAP Commerce Java Developer in an IT company who wakes up everyday at 5:30 am to cook break fast, lunch and prep work for dinner, wash all the vessels, wipe and stack them before leaving to office, attend a noisy-barking status call at home while cooking and serving breakfast and reach office at around 10:00 am, take household worries to office and do the dog-chasing-tail dance at work and then bring back work non-sense to home at 9:45 pm (or later) and prepare dinner and go to bed only to have sleepless nights, I sometimes forget to breathe. Not to forget the days when the food I prepared doesn’t taste good and I crucify myself as I derive my success from Kitchen! 😀 That’s when the pressure cooker sarcastically whistles at me and I just brush it off and pretend like I’m fine. Yes, the usual “I’m fine” which certainly means I’m not. What to do! that’s how we women speak.
My worries only increased as my prayer life started blinking red.
So I spoke to God , “Lord! I’m not able to pray. I feel so far away. What shall I do?” and God simply said “Pray”.
God was not kidding when He said that. Prayer is the only answer to lack of prayer which means we start praying about this concern whenever possible and God will start opening ways to solving this and the first thing that he opens is our eyes to see the urgent necessity of prayer.
Necessity leads to priority! Priority leads to plans!
Please read these articles on enjoying relationship with God in hectic life,
Let’s pray!
For You
- Lord, today I chose to trust in you that without a relationship with you I can not have a good relationship with my husband. It is you who is amidst us that is holding us together. It is you the unbreakable bond between us. I thank you Lord!
(Ecclesiastes 4:12) - Lord, May I never take credit for all the good things that happened in this marriage. Even though my obedience plays a role, it is you who makes things happen and it is you who gives me the grace to face the day.
(Isaiah 26:12) - Lord, Lord help me to prioritize prayer and reading of the word. Even if I pray for 5 minutes let it be from the bottom of my heart. May I always tune my ears to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. May not think, say or do anything that will grieve the Holy Spirit. May I slowly increase my prayer time and enjoy the fullness of Life!
(Psalm 63:1a, Psalm 119:92)
- Lord, open my eyes to see the grace that you shower each day newly according to the problems that are unknown to me but known
to you. Open my ears to hear your voice. My ears are blocked due to the noise of the world and worries of life. I pray that you deliver me from this chaos and open my ears to hear you speak. Lord! I’m lifeless without hearing your voice!
(Psalm 119:18, Isaiah 50:4,5, Psalm 40:6) - Lord, I commit my everyday plans and into your hands. May I not lean on my own understanding. Teach me to balance my day well. Bless the work of my hands so that extra time is not wasted on it.
(Proverbs 16:3, Psalm 37:5)
For your Husband
- Lord, I pray that we prioritize family altar no matter how hectic is our life. Lord I pray that the family prayer should not be a name sake one but a place where we unite in one spirit and worship you in Spirit and Truth. Lord! May it be time where we hear from you and let us not come to the family altar with bitterness and rage in our hearts. Let, family altar bring peace and reconciliation to the family and not strife.
(Matthew 18:20) - Lord, I pray for my husband’s relationship with you. I pray that all the obstacles, lack of faith and unwanted priorities that is blocking my husband from getting closer to you, be broken in the name of Jesus.
(Mark 9:24) - Lord, I pray that my husband becomes sober and stays vigilant about what is happening in the family and around. I pray that he will use his vigilance to pray diligently against the roots of the problems.
(Matthew 26:41) - Lord, I pray that you will give him timely urge to pray so that he may keep himself away from temptations just like you warned Peter to pray to avoid temptations.
(Mark 14:38) - Lord, remove all the laziness, sluggishness and physical weakness that is preventing him from praying regularly and reading the word. Lord I also pray that He will use his mouth to proclaim the word of God through Biblical confessions each day!
(Proverbs 10:5, Mark 14:38b) - I pray that me and my husband will share a Godly fellowship where we discuss about you and what you have spoken in your word. May our spiritual talks
be blessed and make us come closer and closer as the spiritual bonds last longer!
(1 Corinthians 1:10)
Amen!
